Pierce Brosnan, who played the superspy James Bond in the long-running series of Bond movies, is being sued by a photographer who alleged that the actor “hit, struck, and attacked” him in an altercation occurred in October at a Malibu shopping center. The legal action against the 54-year-old actor stems from an incident allegedly occurred outside Casa Escobar on Oct. 26 in a Malibu mall at about 6:15 PM. In that altercation, Brosnan allegedly committed a battery on Robert Rosen, a photographer.According to Rosen, Brosnan was outside the Mexican eatery Casa Escobar with his young kid, when he approached the former Bond star and began taking photos. Rosen said he praised the actor for his portrayal of James Bond on the big screen, but enraged Pierce responded by snapping, "Why don't you get a real f**king job," and then allegedly struck him in the ribs.A witness said the freelance photographer Rosen reacted by kicking Pierce in the stomach.Last month, the Los Angeles prosecutors decided not to press criminal charges against the star, citing lack of evidence. In the lawsuit, filed in L.A. Superior Court, the complainant alleged that Brosnan "suddenly and without warning" attacked him, causing "severe physical and emotional pain and injuries, including bruised ribs."The snapper was not "chasing, following or harassing"

the actor, nor was he invading his privacy, the lawsuit states. According to the lawsuit, the "out of control" Brosnan "punched, hit, struck, and attacked" him, using force that was "excessive, unlawful, (and) malicious."The suit seeks unspecified general and punitive damages for the assault and battery, and for negligence, as well as lost earnings and the cost of medical and psychological treatment.Brosnan's lawyer has not yet responded to the allegations.Born on May 16, 1953 in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland, Brosnan is best known for portraying James Bond in four films: ‘GoldenEye’ in 1995, ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ in 1997, ‘The World Is Not Enough’ in 1999 and ‘Die Another Day’ in 2002.The Irish actor and producer, who now holds American citizenship, has also starred in the films "Seraphim Falls," "The Matador," "After the Sunset" and "The Thomas Crown Affair."In 1980, Brosnan tied knot with Cassandra Harris, an Australian actress 12 years his senior, who he'd met at a party in 1978. Six years later Brosnan adopted Harris’ two children, Charlotte (born in 1971) and Christopher (born in 1972), after their father died in 1986. Brosnan and Harris had one son together, Sean (born in 1984). After eleven years of marriage, Harris died of ovarian cancer in 1991.In 2001, Brosnan married American journalist Keely Shaye Smith, and they have two sons, Dylan Thomas (born in 1997) and Paris Beckett (born in 2001).Brosnan currently resides in Malibu, California and has a home in Hawaii. He also has a house in North Dublin.
