The Activision-published title will be called Blood Stone, according to details on a Eurythmics fan site - corroborating retailer listings from earlier in the year. According to GamePron, the game is in development for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 - although the earlier retail listing also had it down for Wii, too.

The game will reportedly feature a story by screenwriter Bruce Feirstein (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough), and the likenesses of singer/songwriter and actress Joss Stone as a Bond girl, alongside Daniel Craig and Judi Dench. The report says the game will also feature 16-player multiplayer support. Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes intend to continue work on the 23rd James Bond movie. Despite studio MGM pulling the plug on the movie indefinitely.

As well as having continuous problems with the production on ‘Lord of the Rings’ prequel ‘The Hobbit – both the lead star and the original intended director will work on the movie.

There is currently no timescale for the release of the action movie, with Mendes moving on to work on novel adaptation.

The new James Bond film, due for release by 2012, has been canned due to a cash crisis. Production crew were told in April the £132million blockbuster, starring Daniel Craig, had been postponed amid "financial problems" at debtridden movie studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which co-funded the film.

But now it has confirmed the movie has been axed - and it could be years before the secret agent with a licence to kill is back on the big screen. A glum insider said: "Members of the production crew have been told the Bond film has been canned.

"There is a lot of bad feeling as a lot of time, money and hard work has already gone into this." American Beauty director Sam Mendes had been lined up to direct the 23rd flick in the franchise, which started with Dr No in 1962. But production company EON confirmed in a statement yesterday: "We do not know when development will resume and cannot comment further at this stage."

A James Bond car is expected to fetch over £3.5 million at an auction scheduled to take place in October this year. Driven by actor Sean Connery in the Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball.

The 1964 Aston Martin DB5 will go under the hammer at the Battersea Evolution arena on October 27. The vehicle - with UK registration number FMP 7B - will be auctioned by RM Auctions, together with Sotheby's, at its annual Automobiles of London event.

The Aston Martin will feature a variety of operational gadgets - including machine guns, bullet-proof shield, revolving number plates, tracking device, removable roof panel, oil slick sprayer, nail spreader and smoke screen.

The original GoldenEye was a bond game released for the Nintendo 64 with Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007. A remake had been announced at this year’s E3 regarding a remake of the game. The remake will be made by Eurocom and Activision with Peirce being replaced by Daniel Craig, the current James Bond.

Despite being a remake, the game will not necessarily share the exact same plot elements as the film. The new game will also be called GoldenEye and will be a Wii exclusive.

Pierce Brosnan has revealed he doesn't miss the character that propelled him to worldwide fame - James Bond. The Irish actor took on the secret agent role for GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day before letting Daniel Craig step in.

"I enjoyed my time as Bond but I don't miss him - I don't have any desire to do Bond again," he told Reveal. "I love who I am as an actor right now." Pierce, who acts alongside Robert Pattinson in Remember Me, admitted he's aware of his shortcomings now that he's 56.

"I'm aware of my lack of stamina, particularly working with a young cast on Remember Me with Robert Pattinson, the latest heartthrob. Things do rattle and shake at times, but that's the challenge of life anyway," he said.
